Sports Activities

BMU’s sports programme is designed for the holistic growth of students and we encourage students to actively participate in sports.

The Sports Department helps us achieve this vision by training students to be in perfect physical and mental health through sports and other physical activities. Our objective is to build competitive teams in sports like cricket, football, kabaddi, basketball, table tennis, badminton, tennis, and others. Therefore, we have planned to develop our sports facilities and support the sportsmen to achieve their ambitions. Apart from preferential admission to the University, talented sportsmen will be provided:

THE OBJECTIVES OF BMU SPORTS POLICY

  • To promote students’ sports participation and to create awareness about the benefits of Physical Education & Sports and to spread Sports Culture among students.
  • To search Sports Talent at the College level and to groom them as better performers.
  • To Project the Potentials of University by organizing National Level Tournaments.
  • To provide Incentives and bestow Awards to Sportspersons to maintain sustained interest among students to participate and perform progressively.
  • To Develop Adequate and Standard Sports Infrastructure Facilities like Playing Fields, Gymnasium, and procure Quality Equipment.
  • To provide Systematic Coaching Programme by involving Qualified & Competent Personnel to groom University Teams & Sports Talent.

to promote sports in BMU and as an incentive to international/national sportspersons, BMU offers Tuition Fee Waivers based on the achievements of outstanding sportspersons as under:

What are timings for using Sports Facilities at BMU?

All facilities are utilized between 6:30 am to 8:30 am and 5:30 pm to 11:30 pm, under the supervision of full time Sports Officers and part-time coaches.

What are the various Sports competitions organized at BMU level during last 5 years?

  1. Inter Quad – Every year Inter Quad competitions (internal) are done within the 4 Quads of the University in all 11 Sports available at BMU
  2. Fresher’s Challenge – At the beginning of all session matches are organized between the new students i.e., the 1st year students and the 2nd year students which acts up like a induction/introduction match between the old and the new students.
  3. Staff and Faculty matches – Staff and Faculty matches are conducted in both the semesters in Badminton, Cricket, Tug of War, Volleyball and Table Tennis
  4. “Hero’s Challenge” – The annual Sports Festival of BML Munjal University started from 2017. The first session of “Hero’s Challenge” witnessed participation by 550 students from 10 Institutions, the second session of “Hero’s Challenge” witnessed 700 plus students from 12 Institutions
  5. Friendly matches against various Institutions and Sports Clubs of NCR – Friendly matches against various sports clubs and Institutions like Northcap University, Ansel University, Moti Lal Nehru College, Delhi University etc.
